On the occasion of the live presentation of their second album Hard Lucky Woman The rhythm&blues, soul and funk band Anne & The Blues Diggers, led by singer Anne Florio, gathered a loyal group of fans at Factoria de So (Santa Maria) before taking their live show to the Funhouse in Madrid next Saturday, December 7.
The torrential Italian voice of the lead singer Anne Florio is shown from the first chords. It starts with one of the only two versions in the new album, «Pride and Joy» by Stevie Ray Vaughan, to continue with her own songs such as «Hittin’ On Me», «Troubles Of My Soul» or «And It Feels So Good», among others. As soon as she took the microphone, she did not hesitate to acknowledge that this 2024 that is coming to an end has been very satisfying, since in addition to publishing their second work, in the month of April they obtained third place in the BluesCazorla Blues Battle, one of the most important competitions of the genre in the country. A podium that gave them access to participate in the XXX Edition of the Cazorla International Blues Festival, the most traditional festival in the country, which was held last July in the town of Jaén.
«Hard Lucky Woman», The title track of the album can be considered almost an anthem. Like the rest of the songs, it is a declaration of intent, with lyrics imbued with messages of female empowerment. During the almost two hours of live performance, there was time to pay tribute with more classics such as "Mississippi Queen", by the seventies rockers Mountain, or "Don't Mess With My Man", written by Dorothy Labostrie and popularized by Irma Thomas.

Anne & The Blues Diggers will open the evening. A quartet with roots in the blues, and influences from R&R and soul. The band brings their powerful live performances from Palma de Mallorca to Madrid for the first time, presenting their new album “Hard Lucky Woman”. A repertoire that combines their own songs and classic blues songs with a personal and eclectic style.
Anna Dukke is the second performer of the night, presenting her new EP "Black Honey". She is one of the most prominent female voices in Spain. Madrid, a city that has always welcomed her with great success and where her career took off, will be the perfect setting for this intimate and powerful concert. Her new work, composed of four songs, along with the rest of her repertoire, will show the strength, charisma and energy that characterizes her voice, enveloping all presents in a unique atmosphere.

This collection of soulful tracks captures the raw essence of the blues for a contemporary audience. The band, spearheaded by Anne Florio in the lead vocals and Mavic Bush in the Guitar, together with Joe Almiron in the bass, and Jaume Ginard in the drums, have come up with a blues sound that is both timeless and modern.
The album opens with the title track "Hard Lucky Woman", a fun and energetic anthem that sets the stage for a journey through the highs and lows of life, all but condensed in over 31 minutes/9 blues songs filled with driving guitar riffs and powerful vocals.
The first released production entitled “WOMAN IN BLUES” includes two unedited and unreleased songs (A. Florio / Mavic Bush) (STILL LEFT IN YOUR HEART, and TROUBLES OF MY SOUL). It is a tribute under the style and interpretive voice of Anne, in memory of those great women who throughout the history of music in the genre BLUES / SOUL / GOSPEL / FUNK set guidelines, but also suffered much discrimination at the time and as well as much of their work being usurped by white artists such as: Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Rolling Stones among so many others.
